Outside my window, a spectacular change is in full swing. As it happens every fall here in the midwestern United States, the leaves turn gold, burnt orange, and fire-engine red in conjunction with the cooler temperatures. It's a glorious spectacle really, and I love seeing the transition ... although I must confess I'm also dreading the bitter cold winds that force those leaves from their branches.
But the most spectacular changes taking place aren't outside my windows, they're in full swing inside my home and inside my soul. It seems every facet of my life is in a state of transition now, and these glorious transitions have me feeling excited and energized for the future.
After years--a lifetime really--of squelching my spiritual voice, I'm finally approaching my stride and coming out in a big (for me) way. I won't lie, it's a scary transition to put myself out there, but it feels right at the same time. At long last I'm shedding the cloak of who I thought others expected me to be, and I'm becoming the person I feel I was meant to be while honoring my soul. I'm putting all my intuitive training, research, and practice to work as an guide, teacher, and reader. Meanwhile I'm exploring lots of new spiritual topics as I continue to develop as a medium and healer.
As invigorating and satisfying these changes are, I realize that change is not always welcomed. At times it can even be downright terrifying. But take the change in stride, one small step at a time, and realize that the other side of change is often better than the comfort and familiarity of the reality you're leaving behind.
I encourage you to take the queue from the change in seasons to reevaluate your life situations. Now is the perfect time to take stock of your spiritual closet (so to speak) and make room for things that enlighten and uplift you.
Do your relationships and the people you spend time with build you up and remind you of your greatness?
Does your career/job/hobby leave you feeling a sense of accomplishment and connectedness?
Is your self-talk uplifting?
Are you happy with where you are in life and where you're going?
If you answered no to any of those questions consider ways to transition into a more soulful you.
